Julius Caesar
Julius Caesar, a force unlike any the city has seen, returns in triumph to Rome and the people pour out of their homes to celebrate. Popular with the common people, outspoken, and irreverent, he seems obsessed with his own authority and achieving absolute power. A small band of the educated elite, devoted to the country’s democratic traditions, decide to bring him down. After his assassination, civil war erupts on the streets. Much Ado About Nothing and Julius Caesar are both approximately 80 minutes long and are played without an intermission. There will be a 20 minute interval between the performances. Both productions feature professional Prague Shakespeare Company artists along with faculty and participants from the Prague Shakespeare Company 2018 Summer Shakespeare Intensive.
